Your hangar is being constructed to top-quality standards. Built with rugged steel siding over structural insulated panels, your hangar will withstand anything that the Montana weather can throw at it. And with built-in radiant floor heat, you'll stay comfortable all year round. Read more about the specific construction details.
Structure Built with SIP Technology
R-Control SIP's (Structural Insulated Panels) have been extensively tested by nationally recognized laboratories and have been proven to meet or exceed all structural and fire code regulations, greatly reducing your liability exposure. For 30 years, R-Control SIP's have shown they’re the strongest, most reliable, and effective building panel products available anywhere. Each panel is treated with FrameGuard® to prevent mold, mildew and termites.
The solid EPS (expanded polystyrene) foam core at the center of each SIP provides a high insulating R-value which means less air leakage and reduced energy bills. R-Control SIP's are UL-labeled for your safety assurance and to ensure your hangar is constructed with the highest quality product available.
Walls and Roof Made from Tuf-Rib™ Steel
To make the walls and roof extra strong to protect your airplane, we're using Tuf-Rib steel. It has an extra rib in it compared to the PBR product so it is stiffer and more durable. The specially-designed overlap system ensures additional weather protection.
The exterior wall color will be "Parchment" and the roof will be "Medium Brown".
Post Frame of Gruen-Wald Laminated Columns
The laminated columns that comprise the post frame construction of your hangar are made of genuine southern pine. Southern yellow pine has superior properties compared to Ponderosa pine used by other manufacturers. Southern yellow pine is 21% stiffer, stronger (compressive strength), and longer lasting.
Importantly, the Gruen-Wald posts are laminated with permanent adhesives. Compare this to other laminated materials which use only a bead or two of flooring glue. Even compared to laminated posts which use nails or wires for reinforcement (which cause problems when cutting the material), Gruen-Wald laminated columns are structurally superior in every way.
HydroSwing is the Best Door for Your Hangar
The HydroSwing door is known for excellent design, high-quality construction, and ease of use. With a HydroSwing door there are fewer moving parts so there's less maintenance. With its single-panel design, there is more headroom and more clearance for your airplane. The powerful hydraulic rams ensure smooth, fault-free operation, adding value to your aviation real estate
You can rest assured that the HydroSwing door is weather tight, too. The sides and top tightly seal using closed-cell foam between the frame and the seal angle of the door. The bottom seal is sturdy cloth inserted 2-ply rubber.
The top hinges are covered using rubber flashing.
And there are plenty of built-in safety features. Controls are dead-man controls; you have full control of door operation at all times. There's an electrical disconnect at the breaker box using a designated circuit. There are internal travel stops in the cylinders to prevent over-extension. And
safety restrictors in each of the cylinders prevent rapid closure under any circumstance. Your HydroSwing door will provide a lifetime of trouble-free use.
Radiant In-Floor Heat System for Comfort and Economy
Radiant heat is the most efficient and safest method available. If you try to heat buildings with large overhead doors by heating the air you lose all the heat every time the doors are opened. With a heated floor, not only is the space warm as soon as the doors are closed, but the area is even warm with the doors open. Save 30% to 40% on heating bills, plus cut greenhouse gas emissions by 40%. Radiant floor systems allow even heating throughout the whole floor, not just in localized spots as with wood stoves, hot air systems, and other types of radiators. The room heats from the floor up. The system is "invisible." There are no heat registers or radiators to obstruct use of the space. Radiant floor systems also eliminate fan noise of forced hot air systems.
